As we’ve been discussing at Amberlamb now for some weeks, Brazil is becoming more popular by the day and even the popular British press is promoting the highlights of the nation from a property perspective. Basically the word is out about Brazil and the exceptional opportunity that it currently represents in terms of real estate investment potential.
There is massive untapped potential across the nation but it is the northeast of the country that’s getting the most attention because of its improving accessibility, it’s low crime statistics, it’s high desirability as a holiday location and its wealth of real estate for sale – but who buys property in Brazil and why?
People are buying in at the moment for a combination of reasons - there are those who know that many of the eastern European emerging markets are reaching the stage where they are oversold or at least where significant profitability is hard to come by – these people are buying property in Brazil for capital growth reasons.
Then there are those buying into specific Brazilian real estate developments where there are an impressive array of amenities such as golf courses, water parks, equestrian centres and no end of holiday related facilities from pool bars to gyms, from spas to water sport activity centres – these people recognise that there is money to be made from the impressive tourism market that is growing at almost 3% faster than the global average tourism growth rate according to the World Travel and Tourism Council...and of course, there are those who see that the affordability of Brazil offers them a lifestyle choice. They can buy a holiday home, a second home or possibly a retirement home in a stunning nation where the cost of living is low and the standard of living is improving all the time.
Northeastern Brazil around Natal and specifically across the Rio Grande do Norte region is being heavily promoted by the Brazilian government and private investors who have all committed to real estate or tourism related projects in the region. As a direct result this is going to become the most popular area of the nation for real estate investment in the short to medium term. Direct flights and the new airport that’s coming on line, the fact you access this part of the nation in less than 8 hours from the UK, the fact that it has high temperatures, low crime, stunning beaches, excellent and improving infrastructure all make it a fantastic holiday choice too, which means any property investors will be able to watch the base of interest for rental or resale real estate grow and grow.
It’s likely that northeastern Brazil will become an area of the world more explored by those who desire second or holiday homes abroad. Particularly those who wish to make use of their property sometimes and rent it out when not in use as there are a number of developments offering on site management and rental packages as part of their sales promotion.
And finally, northeastern Brazil is already popular with retirees - it is currently off the beaten track among those who seek a familiar European retirement community, but it has long been popular with those who like to travel a little further afield away from the maddening crowd!! The cost of living is so much lower, the standard of living is improving rapidly, property prices remain affordable...and as a result the number of retirees considering their options and examining Property Brazil is highly likely to rise.
So there you have it – there is an incredibly broad base of property buying interest in Brazil and if you haven’t examined the options already we can highly recommend that you do!
