Investors Buy Property in Velika Plaza Montenegro Now!

At Amberlamb we’ve always tried to keep our opinions balanced when it comes to the potential for property investors to make money out of property in Montenegro.  This is because while it is a nation with incontestable potential in terms of having room for significant price appreciation and tourism based growth, it is also a country that truly epitomizes an ‘emerging market’ in terms of its economic and political volatility and the immaturity of certain aspects of legislation and government decision making.

However, slowly but surely we’re having our heads turned away from the negative and Montenegro is growing on us!  And we’re not the only ones who can see more potential than problems which is why we’re saying – investors buy property in Velika Plaza in Montenegro now because this part of the country is about to boom thanks to Roman Abramovich’s plans for it!

You may already be aware that Serena and Venus Williams along with Catherine Zeta Jones and Michael Douglas have been property hunting with a vengeance in Montenegro?  Well, they aren’t the only ones…Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich apparently caught wind of the fact that the Montenegrin government has had plans for a number of years to privatize and sell off one of the most stunning areas of the nation’s coastline close to the port town of Ulcinj in the south of the country.

This area of coast is known as Velika Plaza (pictured above) and it includes an 8 mile long stretch of virgin sand and the land all around it…and according to the Southeast Europe Investment Guide 2007 from Seeurope.net, this is the year that it will be sold off specifically for the development of a significant 5 star tourism resort.

Lawyers and agents working in Montenegro for Mr. Abramovich have been reluctant to divulge his plans but the British Telegraph newspaper have had their roving reporters probing for information and have determined that Roman Abramovich is currently buying up significant private property in Montenegro in the Ulcinj province so that he already has a positive hold on the area when it comes time to bid for the right to acquire and develop Velika Plaza.

However, Mr. Abramovich is apparently going to be placing his bid alongside others of an equally competitive standing backed by the likes of royalty from the UAE and a massive Hungarian based development firm.  Whoever gets their hands on this part of Montenegro has to develop it to an incredibly high standard – so from a property investor’s perspective it matters not who eventually gets their hands on Velika Plaza.  What matters is that it is an area about to be developed and made significantly more valuable.

Already land prices in the immediately vicinity of Velika Plaza and the pretty town of Ulcinj are reflecting this future development, they have risen from an average of GBP 34 to GBP 170 per square meter in just twelve months and we are pretty certain that this gain has only just begun which is why we’re saying investors buy property in Velika Plaza Montenegro now before you’re priced out and the boom is well underway.
