Waterside Property in Belize

At a time when the Belizean people and politicians are going head to head about how best to spend the country’s new found short term oil wealth, Belizea, one of the largest landowning corporations in Belize has recently announced impressive long term sustainability plans for its 31,000 acre Mayan Plantation site.

Mayan Plantation property development will feature residential, commercial, tourism and education facilities with waterside property in Belize being a predominant feature of the development.  Beachfront homes, hotels, shopping centres and golf courses will line up alongside educational and environmental institutes which will be created to boost the investment, lifestyle and tourism appeal of Belize but also to raise awareness about the need to preserve the unique natural beauty and biodiversity of Belize.

Belizea announced that they have joined forces with the large US based financial services company CapNet Securities Corp. this week to secure finance, find investors and further develop their ambitious plans for this, one of the most exciting property investment projects in Belize.

In direct contrast to the row that is ongoing in Belize currently now that the nation has struck commercial quantities of oil and the government decides how best to spend the money, Belizea are already committed to giving back to the Belizean people, bettering the immediate site environment and protecting the long term sustainability of the natural world around the Mayan Plantation development.

For property investors the announcement that Belize has struck black gold furthers the appeal of the nation…there will be an abundance of opportunity presenting itself for the development of residential communities for oil workers for example, and if the deputy prime minister of Belize has his way, the Belizean people will directly benefit financially from the oil find which will increase their ability to afford real estate.

But in the meantime, while the argument about the environmental and financial impact of having struck oil continues, the Mayan Plantation development offers international investors a very real chance to buy into residential, commercial and tourism real estate on a site that is perfectly positioned on the coast of Belize right in between and only a short drive from Belize City and the nation’s main international airport.

In terms of the opportunities available, waterside property in Belize is massively in demand and the developers are keen to tap into this demand and create sea front villas and condominiums whilst protecting much of the 10,000 acres of tropical rainforest for the enjoyment of residents, tourists and students alike.

The Mayan Plantation development is even more attractive a prospect for international property investors who still have a conscience because unlike many developments in emerging markets, much of the focus of the project is on the preservation and promotion of the stunning natural environment that Belize enjoys.  We can only hope and pray that the oil find in Belize will not result in the ruination of part of the country and that Belizea’s conscientious approach to property development and the promotion of Belize as a tropical eco resort to be cherished is 100% successful
